SA/SR job study 10 th floor

Phone Meeting attended by mostly SA's from the 10th floor to discuss about SA/SR job study and title ,, Union Rep Reed Roberts and CWA Labor person Cindy Scrivens, Jay Boyle NE district 7 rep. Advised us that their goal is to get SA/SR's to wage scale 4. This will be a contract item to be negotiated at the table during contract talks. Please understand this there is NO grievance on the floor about SR's not wanting to be SA's or merge titles because of their SA schedule 24*7
we actually have no control of the hours of work in the center, any group can become 24 * 7 FYI

I'm sorry but when was this an "SA/SR" job study. To my knowledge the SA title was created from a job study (who was the union rep that signed off on that downgrade). The SR job study has been going on since T. Brown (almost 3yrs), so whats 3 more months. Don't get me wrong I would like to see everyone make more money. I just don't understand how or why the SA title was attached to the SR study. Sounds to me like a union hand shake with the company to give the company what they want for staffing, instead of forcing the company to use the post and bid process (as screwed up as that process is). I thought Linda was no longer the union president and these company deals would cease, but I guess its just the same ol' union.

Many concerns have been brought to the union steward, why does a single person have to file a grievance, when the steward can file one under MAJORITY? What about the Tornado Warning at the time of the call??? Maybe thats why attendance was not so good!!!!

"This will be a contract item to be negotiated at the table during contract talks," while I'm glad there is some light at the end of the tunnel (is it a train). Isn't there more pressing issues to be discussed at contract time that affect ALL of the occupational employees. What about the smaller things that should of been fixed years ago? Employees on loan indefinately, where do I find that in the contract. Oh wait, I can't. I know this had a grievance filled out atleast, but what was done with it. Was it filed under "this doesn't affect me, so I will do nothing" file. Or the cross training that is being done and then forcing these people to do the function when the non-trained only have to do 1 function. Can we have more than 1 chief steward? Maybe a chief for each side of the floor since we are seperated anyways. Ok, back to the original post. Didn't the SA title evolve from SRs? I have done both functions. The two groups don't do the same work, plain and simple. It maybe close, but a pinto isn't a porsche, now is it.
