I would like CWA to ask for all our PDP days to be priority days;

Since Qwest is suppose to be a good company for working parents to work for.

In the past couple of years, it has become impossible to get time off for

any unscheduled problems that might arise in your life. Qwest is now

blocking out time and is forcing people to call in sick when a need for

time off arises.

Asking for 8 PDP as priority, still does not even allow for 1 day off a month.

I definitely don't think 2 days in 12 months is enough.

Where to begin....
Stand Strong on health benefits, no more steps backwards. Raises over the life of the contract. More strict language on loaning employess to other departments. All PDP days maybe used as priority days. Add grand parent-in-laws back to the paid funeral leave list. A longer contract life, 5 or 7 years.

Do are customers really expect us to work 11hrs a day or is this a company policy? I feel we have lost sight of a very important issue here and it is called saftey. Does a tradjaty have to happen be for these expectations are lifted. All I can say is QJD.

Could you please remove the verbiage " For the needs of the business". This has cause the company to have the upper hand in our existing contract.

I never thought a forced pager policy could be so abusive. Are we not allowed to have a personal life? Maybe we need to re-think this one.

The number of widgets we need to produce in a 8 hour day. If so, not allowing that number to excide more than 8 hours of work in a single day. Remember your membership is only human.

When does worker safety become an issue? technicians on mandatory overtime working at 9:30 pm shining light on customers homes just to repair drop...come on... These folks are in bed..When does the tech have a right to say enough is enough?...oh thats it!.. the customer calls the police because they have Qwest searchlights on their home after the customer says come back tomorrow..get real...If the tech is physically or mentally exhausted because of mand ot it becomes a safety issue. Can somebody in our union say "let's call O
SHA" to see what their take is

What happens to Generals who mess with their troops? QJD is a flawed system. How is it the techs fault if this "pristine" cable plant is in desperate need of serious replacement, and the tech cuts 2 clr to the best of the worse choice in spares. The tech cannot close the repair ticket if the ckt does not pass testing specifications. 1 month later the pair is in trouble again, and the tech gets gigged for a repeat. Bottom line: The only reason the tech should be gigged is if he/she makes a mistake (human). The outside tech also gets gigged if the same ckt goes into trbl and the problem is in the CO due to cfa cut/rearrange,or pic replacement. The outside tech has no control over these issues, but he/she gets gigged for it.

Mandatory overtime should be paid as double time. Increase the pager allowance to $40 per day. Shorten the time lines in the greivence process. Stronger language for safety issues. (Qwest safety has become a joke.)

Is it really possible to get the non-members on the management plan,it almost seems fair that they should have to pay something. Then maybe some members would stop threating to drop out for dumb reasons, because then it would cost them something,so if they really believe in the reasons they want to drop-out for,I could respect them. As it stands I know they do it for the money.

Seniority for vacation scheduling only. Why should I suffer the pass down of worf from the ones who can't get the job done. I get to do my work plus theirs. (yep, thats equality) The ones who can do the work should get to pick their tour.

We supposedly don't pay a health care monthy premium but, medco keeps dropping coverage for prescribed drugs and says otc drugs work just as well and to try them. For some severe or dangerous conditions it doesn't work so well.
Otherwise the Internal Med physician would tell you to use otc.

Just wondering what the issues are for the upcoming contract negotiation. Are we asking for a 5yr contract, more pay. the time is nearing and I haven't heard anything. please enlighten me

Never been a part of union until I came to US West/QWEST... Used to feel the strength of the Union local 7400 behind me. Now I am not sure if it is worth it anymore. Further wondering... what are my dues for? Will I have to pay $5 for a t-shirt when negotiation comes around again? Will we get cookies? How about pizza? It's been a while for all of the above. Scratch it... how about current info on greivances filed, what ideas might be on the table at negotiation time. You know, things that matter. Save the cookies and *$@! for our sons and daughters coming to work day. How about it! Put our money where your mouth is! No wonder people are quitting... doesn't seem so stupid to me!

HERE WE GO AGAIN---MANAGEMENT TRYING TO PUT A KINK IN THE ARMOR OF THE UNION. ITS CONTRACT TIME AND THEY AS STIRRING UP HATE AND DISCONTENT. THEY TELL EMPLOYEES THAT EVERYTHING GOING WRONG IS BECAUSE OF OUR UNION. THEY NEGELCT TO SAY THAT THEY HAVE REFUSED TO MEET WITH THE UNION AND TALK IN GOOD FAITH. WE HAVE SEEN THEM LIE AND BE VINDICTIVE. THIS IS THE TIME WE SHOULD BE STRONG AND GET MORE PEOPLE TO SIGN CARDS TO JOIN THE UNION AND NOT LET THE LIARS DICTATE WHAT THE RULES.

Does anyone care about what the csa's are making. Also why is Qwest outsourcing our sales while we in the sales center are doing billing calls. I find it interesting that the turn over rate of csa's is so high. Without us to answer the calls and sign up new customers Qwest would we out of business. We need to be paid more for what we do. Stop selling our services at Walmart,Best Buy etc. Verizon made the company stop this because of all the problems it was causing with screwed up orders. We are treated worst than any other group. 10.20 an hour is what they pay and it seeems they are can not hire top quality help since all the other companies in town pay 3-4 dollars an hour more. I am number 10 in senority of all the csa's and can not live on what I get paid.If the union does not get us a higher base I will be gone come august. Let qwest outsource the whole company. Yes net tech and installers all can be outsourced. We have to stand together or I promise you they will continue to cut jobs and hire contractors to do the job you have. Look at the cell phone deal with verizon. Soon the WCOE will be closed and Qwest will not have to deal with paying Qwest employees to help our wireless customers. Who says they can't bid out the tech jobs to non union contractors. We are letting non union people sell our services so why would they stop there.

I believe the union negotiators were over matched at the contract table.
I believe the company has played union leadership like a Stradivarius because union leadership is to cozy with the company. At all levels.
I believe you should vote no. But if you are on Surplus Status, vote yes.
